Kevin A. Johnson. B.A., Speech Communication, California State University, Long Beach (1999); M.A., Communication Studies, California State University, Long Beach (2002); Ph.D., Communication Studies, University of Texas at Austin (2007). Dr. Johnson is the Director of Research for the Center for First Amendment Studies at California State University, Long Beach. He has published in the area of the First Amendment studies. Most recently, his work on the First Amendment may be found in the National Communication Association's Free Speech Yearbook as well as A First Amendment Profile of the Supreme Court (John Cabot University Press). He has been an invited guest of the Supreme Court to observe oral arguments, and has recently returned from Rome, Italy where he participated in a three part series on comparative perspectives on freedom of expression in the United States and Italy.
